The Mullins Auctioneers came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Kingstree and snuck past 60-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Mullins has posted since November 22, 2023.
It was another big night for Jj Davis, who scored 32 points along with two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last four times he's played. Dakarai Worley was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Kingstree still got an impressive performance from Micheal Kelly, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ja'Shaun Dorsey, who scored 11 points.
Mullins is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Kingstree, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-9.
Mullins will be playing in front of their home fans against Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mullins is on a 16-game streak of home wins, Marion a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Kingstree will take on Lee Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lee Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
