The Sandalwood Saints pushed their score all the way to 60 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Impact Christian Academy.
Sandalwood's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antonio Hodges, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Hodges continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joseph Suero, who scored 14 points.
Sandalwood has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Impact Christian Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandalwood will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Wolfson at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Impact Christian Academy, they will challenge Harvest Community at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harvest Community will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 534th, while Impact Christian Academy is ranked 251st).
