Trinity Presbyterian extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region 4 this week by beating Tarrant, 35-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Wildcats.
Leeds took down Central of Coosa County 45-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
5-foot-9 quarterback Allen Wood of Trinity Presbyterian is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1112. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. On the ground, the Cougars' Quon Benson has rushed for 449 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Javaris Whetstone. The Central of Coosa County star has 30 catches for 415 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Central of Coosa County takes on Randy Ragsdale's team. Richard Bell's team is currently in fifth, while the Wildcats are in second.
There should be lots of points scored when the Cougars and Trinity Presbyterian face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Central of Coosa County comes in having scored 157 this season, while the Wildcats have scored 217. The Cougars scored 7 points last week as they lost to the Green Wave.
Midfield made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,059 from 4,403. The advance stemmed from a 34-6 victory over Comer last week.
