Red Wing is 9-1 against Austin since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Wingers will venture away from home to challenge the Packers at 1:30 p.m. Austin took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Red Wing, who comes in off a win.

Red Wing will bounce into Saturday's matchup after beating Faribault, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wingers walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Falcons on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Stella Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Camryn Zotalis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Molly Jacobson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Red Wing lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Austin lost 13-6 to Owatonna on Tuesday. The Packers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Austin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Cass, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Charlee Cunningham was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Red Wing's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Red Wing skirted past Austin 8-7 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wingers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
