Softball Recap: Archbold Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

While Archbold's victory against Edgerton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blue Streaks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the Bulldogs on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Streaks in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

Archbold's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Edgerton, the defeat snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 15-4 record.

Looking ahead, Archbold will challenge Otsego at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Blue Streaks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Edgerton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastside at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blazers will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
