Considering Wickenburg Christian Academy has won six matches by more than 24 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Evan Gustin, who scored 21 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Wickenburg Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Sheehan, who scored ten points along with eight assists and four steals.
Wickenburg Christian Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Our Lady of the Sun Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
Wickenburg Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Christian and Wickenburg Christian Academy are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Our Lady of the Sun Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sonoran Science Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sonoran Science Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
