The Quartz Hill Royals came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Highland by a score of 63-52. This was payback for Quartz Hill, who suffered a 44-42 defeat the last time these two teams met.
It was another big night for Jaidyn Norman, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last five times he's played. Jalen Ignacio was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Quartz Hill's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Highland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Quartz Hill will take on the Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Knight knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully the Royals likes a good challenge. As for Highland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eastside and the Bulldogs are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
