Joliet West had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 39-point drubbing they dealt Joliet Central on Thursday. The Joliet West Tigers claimed a resounding 64-25 win over the Joliet Central Steelmen. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Joliet Central still got an impressive performance from Luis Rivas, who posted four points and three steals.

Joliet West's victory bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Joliet Central, they dropped their record down to 2-19 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Joliet West Tigers duke it out with the Plainfield South Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Joliet Central, they will be playing at home against Lockport at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lockport knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Joliet Central likes a good challenge.
