The Vista Meridian Meridian Eagles lost against the Samueli Academy Firewolves back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Vista Meridian was dealt a 67-17 defeat at the hands of the Firewolves. Vista Meridian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-1.
Aiden Aguirre was a one-man wrecking crew for Samueli Academy as he dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Aguirre has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Damian Zendejas, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Vista Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Samueli Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vista Meridian will take on the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orange County Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than zero points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Samueli Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Calvary Chapel sitting on four straight victories and the Firewolves on five.
