Baseball Recap: Simeon Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Simeon never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Morgan Park Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-3 on Monday.

The result came thanks to Christian Lott's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Simeon is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-10-1 otherwise.

At the plate, Simeon let Bryce Jones and Daniel Jones Jr run wild. Jones went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Jones Jr went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Jones has posted since back in April.

Simeon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Morgan Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-9-3.

Simeon has already played their next match, a 16-2 victory against Brooks on the 8th. As for Morgan Park, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-1 win against Lincoln Park on the 13th.
