Basketball Recap: Temple Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jessie Dejesus and Jeremiah Thirdkill

Temple Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Terrell on Friday. The Temple Christian Eagles fell to the Terrell Tigers 54-50. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Temple Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jeremiah Thirdkill, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 23 points and five boards, and Jessie Dejesus, who posted 13 points along with eight boards and six assists. The matchup was Thirdkill's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Walker, who put up eight points and five rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Temple Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Temple Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Terrell, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-11.

Temple Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-44 victory against North Side on the 28th. As for Terrell, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Gateway Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m.
