The Sarasota Sailors will square off against the Riverview Sarasota Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sarasota 2.4, Riverview Sarasota 0.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Sarasota barely beat North Port the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Sailors were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over the Bobcats on Thursday. The Sailors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Ashlan Guengerich made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jade Hendrickson, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carley Ramsden, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Sarasota was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .436. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Riverview Sarasota got themselves on the board against Palmetto on Wednesday, but Palmetto never followed suit. They had just enough and edged out the Tigers 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.
Not much got past Allison Cole, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Palmetto off the board. Cole has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Riverview Sarasota's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sierra Lipton, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Sarasota is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Riverview Sarasota, their victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1.
Both Sarasota and Riverview Sarasota just can't seem to miss. The Sailors have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Riverview Sarasota struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
