Midlothian and Powhatan are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Trojans will face off against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Midlothian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Midlothian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let L.C. Bird get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory on Thursday. With that win, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

Lea Foldeneaur and Erika Fiege were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Foldeneaur pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Fiege tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Foldeneaur went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Fiege went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Foldeneaur a new career-high.
In other batting news, Charlotte Corcoran was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Ava Vozar also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Midlothian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Powhatan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Thomas Dale with a sharp 9-2 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Brooklyn Narbut tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over 6.1 innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Harper, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Mazie Harmon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.
Powhatan is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Midlothian, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both Midlothian and Powhatan just can't seem to miss. The Trojans have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Powhatan struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Midlothian was able to grind out a solid win over Powhatan in their previous matchup back in March, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
