Labette County will challenge Wellington on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Labette County have seen their point totals decreasing over the past three games, a vulnerability Wellington are surely hoping to exploit.
After a string of three wins, Labette County's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They took a 6-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Scott. Labette County got a solid performance out of senior Easton Dean, who accumulated 248 passing yards and picked up 64 yards on the ground; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. Dean has been a consistent playmaker for Labette County as this was the 4th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, Wellington put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They blew past Rose Hill 38-7. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Wellington had established a 28-0 advantage.
Wellington's win lifted them to 4-1 while Labette County's defeat dropped them down to 3-2. We'll find out if Wellington can add another positive mark to their record or if Labette County can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Wellington's step.
