The Elmira Falcons pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-63 to St. Helens. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (58), Elmira still had to take the loss.
St. Helens' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Andrew Waite, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Aaron Liebelt, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Elmira bumped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for St. Helens, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Elmira will be home for the holidays to greet Horizon Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Helens, they will head out on the road to face off against Regis at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Regis will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
