Interlachen saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dyana Valdez, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave Valdez a new career-high. Julianis Morales was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Peniel Baptist Academy entered their tilt with Harvest Community on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past Harvest Community 9-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Alexis Peacock made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Allison Peacock was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Shanley Jenkins also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Peniel Baptist Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Interlachen's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Peniel Baptist Academy, their record now sits at 11-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Interlachen has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Peniel Baptist Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
