The Taylor Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Crooms Academy Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
On Tuesday, Taylor came up short against Crescent City and fell 64-53. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Taylor in their matchups with Crescent City: they've now lost four in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from James Thomas, who scored 16 points. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikko Dozier, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Crooms Academy, as they earned their first road win of the season. They strolled past First Baptist Christian Academy with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 86-71. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Crescent City's win pushed their record up to 2-3, while Taylor's loss dropped theirs down to 3-2.
Taylor lost to Crooms Academy on the road by a decisive 84-65 margin in their previous meeting back in February. Thankfully for Taylor, Cagan Stafford (who scored 27 points along with 8 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
