The Southwest Raiders lost against the Arlington Heights Yellowjackets back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Southwest fell just short of Arlington Heights by a score of 29-26. While losing is never fun, Southwest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 746th, while Arlington Heights is ranked 355th).
Despite the loss, Southwest still got an impressive performance from Martavious Boswell, who rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry.
Arlington Heights found their leader in underclassman Carson James, who rushed for 35 yards and two touchdowns. Those two rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for James.
Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Arlington Heights, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-2 record this season.
Southwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Arlington Heights is also done with their season.
