Moapa Valley walked away with a 3-1 win over Mater Academy East Las Vegas on Friday for which the team can thank Stolworthy, who had five digs and three aces. Stolworthy is also crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 26 every time he's taken the court this season.
The final score came out to 25-16, 23-25, 25-17, 28-26.
Meanwhile, Somerset Academy Losee faced Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Somerset Academy Losee took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Valley. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Somerset Academy Losee started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-12.
Somerset Academy Losee now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Moapa Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's game: Moapa Valley has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Somerset Academy Losee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
