The Forest Hills Yellow Jackets's four-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They walked away with a 60-53 victory over Central Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Forest Hills also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Forest Hills found their leader in underclassman Amari Melton, who scored 18 points. Melton hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kj Chambers, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Forest Hills now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Central Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forest Hills will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Anson at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Anson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Forest Hills likes a good challenge. As for Central Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Monroe presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Central Academy in North Carolina (Monroe is ranked 282nd, while Central Academy is ranked 640th).
