The Trinity Collegiate Titans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Lugoff-Elgin, posting a 84-51 win on the road. Trinity Collegiate has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 26 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trinity Collegiate to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makayla Legette, who scored 21 points along with eight assists and eight steals. Legette hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaliya Herman, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Lugoff-Elgin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jillian Rush. Despite the final result, she scored 26 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rush has scored all season. Alicia Jefferson was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Trinity Collegiate pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Lugoff-Elgin, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Collegiate will take on First Baptist School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lugoff-Elgin, they will head out on the road to face off against Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Westwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Saturday.
