After a string of three wins, Highland's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 52-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jersey Panthers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bulldogs came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Panthers are ranked 266th).

Highland's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5. As for Jersey, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Highland will be home for the holidays to greet Mater Dei at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Jersey will take on St. Pius X in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
