After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Millard South, Papillion-LaVista was happy to have turned things around  on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past the Norfolk Panthers  6-5. This was payback for the Monarchs, who suffered  a  5-4  defeat the last time these two teams met.
 Landyn Albrecht made a splash no matter where he played. He  pitched six innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   three  hits. Albrecht was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. He has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times he's  played.
 Albrecht wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Easton Schneider, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-4.  Luke Bennett also deserves some recognition as  he  scored his first  run of the season.
The  win  got Papillion-LaVista back to even at 2-2. As for Norfolk, their loss was  their third straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 1-4.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Papillion-LaVista will  face off against  rival Burke  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Meanwhile, Norfolk is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Lincoln High  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
