The Kearney Catholic Stars won against the Scotus Shamrocks last Tuesday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Kearney Catholic strolled past the Shamrocks with points to spare, taking the game 61-47. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Kearney Catholic.
Kearney Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Axmann, who scored 20 points. Carson Murphy was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven assists.
Kearney Catholic pushed their record up to 10-8 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Scotus, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
Kearney Catholic will be playing at home against the Bluejays on Thursday. As for Scotus, they and the Knights will face off at 7:45 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Norfolk Catholic's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
