The NC GBB Academy National Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Sunday. They came out on top against Blue Ridge by a score of 87-77. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Blue Ridge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamren Martin, who scored 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Shanon Simango was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
NC GBB Academy National has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Blue Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.
NC GBB Academy National will be playing in front of their home fans against New Life Christian Academy on Friday. Blue Ridge on the road again on Tuesday and play against St. Anne's-Belfield at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
