Softball Recap: Farmington Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

Farmington's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They never let the Robertson Cardinals get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The Scorpions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by ten runs or more this season.

Farmington got a massive performance out of Hailey Curley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazlyn Zunie, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Farmington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Robertson only posted a batting average of .000.

Farmington is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Robertson and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Farmington will square off against Rio Rancho at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Farmington their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Robertson, they will take on Portales at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Robertson's pitchers better be ready for this one: Portales has averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
