The Centerpoint Knights and the Mansfield Tigers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Centerpoint Knights had to settle for second. Centerpoint was dealt a 57-22 loss at the hands of Mansfield. Centerpoint's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Centerpoint lost, one person who can't be blamed is Beau McGough. Despite the final result, he rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown.
Centerpoint now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Mansfield, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Centerpoint does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mansfield will take on Hoxie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hoxie is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
