Fairview extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Gus Van Matre. The Knights blew past the Prairie View Thunderhawks, posting an 85-49 win thanks in part to Van Matre, who went 8-for-14 en route to 21 points. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

Luke Mangine was another key player, putting up nine points along with five boards and three steals. Mangine is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

When it comes to explaining why Prairie View lost on Wednesday, don't look at Kehinde Ojowa. Despite the final result, he shot 50% from the field on his way to 13 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carter Barajas, who posted four points and seven assists.

Fairview's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Prairie View, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Fairview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-51 loss against Horizon on the 12th. As for Prairie View, they have also already played their next matchup, a 68-59 win against Boulder on the 12th.
