The Gabrielino Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the South El Monte Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Gabrielino can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Wednesday. They blew past Marshall 71-28 at home. Winning may never get old, but Gabrielino sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Meanwhile, South El Monte struggled with assists on Monday (North Hollywood had 19 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. South El Monte fell 66-56 to North Hollywood.
The match pitted two key players against one another: Tony Aguilar and Jayson Cooper. Cooper had a great game and scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Meanwhile, Aguilar did his best for the losing side, scoring four points along with eight rebounds.
Gabrielino's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-10. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.67 points. As for South El Monte, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
Gabrielino took their win against South El Monte in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 46-23. Does Gabrielino have another victory up their sleeve, or will South El Monte turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
