Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Destiny Ladson and Emma Elliott Lead West Ashley to Victory

West Ashley's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Indian Land Warriors 43-19. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 24 points or more this season.

West Ashley was led to victory by Emma Elliott and Destiny Ladson. Elliott posted 13 points in addition to seven assists and six steals, while Ladson had 15 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Elliott a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Crowe, who put up six points and 13 boards.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: West Ashley was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indian Land only posted five assists.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katilyn Knoll, who posted three points along with ten boards and three steals. Knoll is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Charlotte Kemp was another key player, putting up two points and five steals.

West Ashley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Indian Land, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

West Ashley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-42 loss against Walhalla on the 28th. As for Indian Land, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-50 defeat against Augusta Christian on the 28th.
