Baseball Recap: Southern Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Southern Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Oaks School. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against The Oaks School this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-4 last Thursday.

Braden Evans was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Southern Prep Academy is 2-1 when Evans posts two or more runs, but 0-14 otherwise. Mason Morris also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Southern Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for The Oaks School, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.

Coming up, Southern Prep Academy will welcome Hope Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hope Christian Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Southern Prep Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. The Oaks School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
