It was a proper cat-fight when Morehead challenged Rockingham County on Wednesday. Morehead came up short against Rockingham County, falling 11-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Walkertown has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.55 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They fell just short of Bethany Community by a score of 11-10. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Macy Miller put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Savannah Miller was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Rachel Roddy also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Morehead's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Walkertown, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

Morehead took their win against Walkertown in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1. Will Morehead repeat their success, or does Walkertown has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
