The Skyview Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Adams City 76-22. Skyview has not had much luck with Adams City recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Skyview lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Froy Morales, who scored six points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Morales pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jacob Trujillo, who scored six points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Skyview struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Adams City racked up 12 assists.
Adams City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kevin Casillas out in front who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Casillas has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Copher, who scored 14 points.
Skyview has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Adams City, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skyview will take on Gateway at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gateway is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. Adams City won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Denver North at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th.
