Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for South Haven Christian

South Haven Christian hadn't done well against Franklin Road Christian recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. South Haven Christian took down the Franklin Road Christian Minutemen 66-50. Winning may never get old, but South Haven Christian sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

South Haven Christian was led to victory by Trevor Steinbrook and Jared White. Steinbrook went 10 for 19 en route to 26 points and four steals, while White almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Steinbrook's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kade Atkinson, who posted six points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

South Haven Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Despite the defeat, Franklin Road Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore David Smith went 5 of 6 on his way to 10 points and five boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Mason Alcorn was another key player, putting up ten points and eight rebounds.

South Haven Christian is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Franklin Road Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-7.

South Haven Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-44 victory against Berean Christian on the 16th. Franklin Road Christian has also already played their next game (against Tournament Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
