Baseball Recap: Lipan Has No Trouble Against Santo

Lipan's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Santo Wildcats 20-1. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Hunter Mills made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Evan Lott and Jackson Posey did most of the damage at the plate: Lott went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Posey went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Posey has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brayden Harrison, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Lipan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santo only posted an OBP of .278.

Lipan has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Santo, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lipan beat the Wildcats by a score of 15-0 on Friday.
