The Falcon Falcons entered their tilt with the Sand Creek Scorpions with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Falcon came out on top against Sand Creek by a score of 77-66 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Falcon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeramiah Potts led the charge by scoring 24 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Cox, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Sand Creek's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wuol Chak, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chak has scored all season. Elijah Brotherns was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Falcon pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Sand Creek, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Falcon will square off against Elizabeth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Elizabeth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Tuesday. As for Sand Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against The Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (The Classical Academy is ranked 158th, while Sand Creek is ranked 172nd).
