The Fillmore Flashes entered their tilt with the Hueneme Vikings with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Fillmore came out on top against Hueneme by a score of 35-28 on Friday. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but Fillmore was the better team in the second half.
Anthony Tafoya was the offensive standout of the match as he threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. David Jimenez was another key contributor, rushing for 62 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Fillmore's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Hueneme, their loss was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-8.
Fillmore has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Cerritos at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Cerritos is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Hueneme does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
