After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Loris, The Manning Monarchs were happy to have found some success on Friday. They snuck past Waccamaw with a 48-43 victory. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Manning's zero-point performance the game before.
When it comes to explaining why Waccamaw lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zaireon Skinner. Despite the final result, he rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also caught a touchdown. Skinner was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Adrian Grate jr was another key contributor, rushing for 54 yards and a touchdown.
Manning's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Waccamaw, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Manning will head out on the road to face off against Philip Simmons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Philip Simmons knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully Manning likes a good challenge. Waccamaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
