The Chisum Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Tom Bean. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for CJ Richter, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds for Tom Bean. That makes it three consecutive games in which Richter has scored at least 25% of Tom Bean's points. Another player making a difference was Branson Ashlock, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Chisum's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Tom Bean, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.
Chisum will be home for the holidays to greet Rains at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rains is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Tom Bean, they will challenge Whitewright at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
