After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Warren Central, the Moss Point Tigers were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 56-17 victory over Poplarville at home. That 56-17 margin sets a new team best for Moss Point this season.
Moss Point's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kevon Ford led the charge by scoring nine points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ford has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Quey'sean Taylor, who scored 12 points.
Moss Point pushed their record up to 11-9 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Poplarville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-17.
Moss Point will head out on the road to face off against St. Martin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Martin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Friday. As for Poplarville, they will be playing at home against Pass Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pass Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Poplarville in Mississippi (Pass Christian is ranked 73rd, while Poplarville is ranked 317th).
