The Crossroad Academy Scorpions's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 65-55 victory over Gadsden County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Crossroad Academy was led to victory by Tyrek Jessie and Ja'Mari Favors. Jessie scored 13 points along with four steals, while Favors scored 16 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jessie has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Camari Hale, who scored nine points.
Crossroad Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Gadsden County, they bumped their record down to 5-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crossroad Academy will face off against Madison County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Madison County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 515th, while Crossroad Academy is ranked 243rd). As for Gadsden County, they will challenge Godby at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
