The Waxahachie Indians's game on Tuesday was all tied up 40-40 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to Duncanville 83-77. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (67), Waxahachie still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Waxahachie lost, one person who can't be blamed is Parker Jefferson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 35 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jefferson has scored all season. Isayah Pankey was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 assists.
Duncanville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bugg Edwards led the charge by scoring 28 points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Davis-ray, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Waxahachie and nudges their season record down to 17-10. As for Duncanville, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waxahachie will take on the Broncos at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mansfield Legacy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Indians are ranked 43rd). As for Duncanville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mansfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully the Panthers and Pantherettes likes a good challenge.
