The St. Edmund Prep Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Fontbonne Hall Academy Bonnies at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Wednesday, St. Edmund Prep had to suffer through a rough 70-28 loss at the hands of St. Joseph Hill Academy. While losing is never fun, St. Edmund Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 387th, while St. Joseph Hill Academy is ranked 21st).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was MacKenzie Palisi, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Priscilla Long, who scored three points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, sadly, Fontbonne Hall Academy is still looking for their first win of the season after seven matchups. They were beaten by Moore Catholic 82-44 on Wednesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fontbonne Hall Academy in their matchups with Moore Catholic: they've now lost five in a row.
St. Edmund Prep has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Fontbonne Hall Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Things could have been worse for St. Edmund Prep, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-28 loss to Fontbonne Hall Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2022. Can St. Edmund Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
