Woodson is 9-1 against Ballou since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Woodson Warriors will be staying on the road to face off against the Ballou Knights at 11:00 a.m. on November 11th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Woodson is ranked sixth, while Ballou is ranked 12th).
Last Friday, Woodson strolled past Eastern with points to spare, taking the game 22-6.
Woodson can attribute much of their success to William Simmons, who rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns, and Dallas Allen-Hall, who rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown. Simmons hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games.
Meanwhile, Ballou's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against Jackson-Reed by a score of 14-7.
Among those leading the charge was Kelvin Hewitt, who rushed for 40 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 130 yards and a touchdown.
Woodson pushed their record up to 6-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Eastern, Ballou, and Roosevelt. As for Ballou, their win bumped their record up to 5-5.
Woodson strolled past Ballou in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a score of 28-14. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Ballou's Hewitt, who rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 130 yards and a touchdown. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Woodson still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
