After a string of four wins, Fleming Island's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the University Christian Christians by a score of 4-3.

Olivia Sikes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Bailee Wadley was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Fleming Island's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for University Christian, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3.

Looking ahead, Fleming Island will head out to challenge Ponte Vedra at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sharks have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for University Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. The Generals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.4 runs per game on average), something the Christians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
