Laurel had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 46-6 victory over the Dawson County Red Devils. With the Locomotives ahead 40-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Laurel was led to victory by Curtis Fox and Krew Hunter. Fox rushed for 123 yards and three scores on only 14 carries, while Hunter threw for 221 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes. Fox's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 123 rushing yards dating back to last season. Laurel also got help from Bridger Burrows, who showed off his sure hands for 99 receiving yards.
