The Lee Generals will take on the Independence Eagles in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at. Independence took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Lee, who comes in off a win.
Lee has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 67-33 win over Mae Jemison at home. That 67-33 margin sets a new team best for Lee this season.
Meanwhile, Independence was beaten by Hillsboro 52-22 on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Independence has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Aaliyah Fleming, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Zaitz, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Lee now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Independence, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
