The Catasauqua Rough Riders entered their tilt with the Salisbury Township Falcons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Catasauqua put the hurt on Salisbury Township with a sharp 35-14 victory on Friday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-0.
Catasauqua's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hunter Reitz, who rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns. Rodney Brodie did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 107 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Salisbury Township lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jason St Leger. Despite the final result, he rushed for 132 yards on only nine carries. St Leger was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards.
Catasauqua's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Salisbury Township, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Catasauqua will head out on the road to face off against Williams Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Williams Valley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Salisbury Township, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Shenandoah Valley at 6:30 p.m. Shenandoah Valley is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
