It was a good run, but the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 55-41 bruising from Frazier. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Jefferson-Morgan came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Frazier is ranked 398th).
Dayten Marion and Huston Guesman certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Marion scored 14 points along with six rebounds, while Guesman scored 12 points. Marion is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.
It was another big night for Dailan Mcmanus, who scored 25 points along with four steals for Frazier. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mcmanus has scored at least 25% of Frazier's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Alekson, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Jefferson-Morgan's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Frazier, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Jefferson-Morgan will be home for the holidays to greet Chartiers-Houston at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Frazier won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bentworth at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bentworth has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Frazier will arrive with three straight wins.
