The Rappahannock Raiders couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by Nandua at home and fell 49-22. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rappahannock in their matchups with Nandua: they've now lost three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nandua to victory, but perhaps none more so than JaQuan Thomas, who scored 8 points along with 12 rebounds. Ny'Zir Dix was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Rappahannock's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Nandua, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rappahannock will challenge King & Queen Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Nandua, they will head out on the road to face off against Norfolk Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Norfolk Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
